News from Pastor Mapesa - February 2, 2008

Dear Brother Steve,

Pastor Noah Mapesa

Allow me please to send our most sincere and deep request to you, so that it may be passed/shared with others, or be published in other websites/newsletters for a way forward, as far as our project focus to save our Children is concerned. Please we are urging you, foremost, to Pray for us in Kenya, so that we may become stable after the General Elections unrest, and whereby the results has led to mass death, homelessness and tribal clashes.

Our President, Hon. Mwai Kibaki, refused to accept that his Government did rig the elections, leading to the Electoral Commission of Kenya to announce and swear him in, while the ODM Party opposition, under Hon. Raila Odinga, has become adamant that the Government rigged the elections, leading them hence to start protesting. This hence has led to most people being killed and others displaced and more worse, others are being burnt even in the House of God, when they run there for refuge and camping! I personally has been a victim in that one night, we were attacked while praying in an overnight meeting, and beaten up. I ended up losing my sound system equipment that I had personally bought (the generator, speakers and amplifier), hence i don't have them yet they were greatly helping me in the Outreach Evangelism meetings!

Also about 8 members have been displaced, as they were of another tribe. We have also about 20 homeless people and over 60 orphan and street children, now taking refuge/camp in the Police stations, in Bungoma, with no food, water, education access and bed sheets. These orphaned and vulnerable children, who have been my great concern and area of help/focus, are in a great problem! The children are now further subject to vulnerable disease infections and coldness, as they stay in Police stations, with great lack of food, clothing, education and bedsheets. We are kindly urging you please, to pass our request to every person, humanitarian organizations, any charitable group(s), students, clubs in mission, youths, journalists of the media, etc. And especially Christians, and journalists, who would wish to help, to consider taking a step forward and possibly initiate some helping tools towards our crisis aftermaths.

We would wish to establish a Children's Home, titled Lighthouse Orphans Rescue & Support Center, that will constitute of an Accommodation Hostel, health care, and learning Education Rooms. Kindly if you would help us, to be linked to people who would like just to take a bold step to help/give to this Project in Kenya-Africa. I do hope that by this, my great desire/dream and cry to the Lord would have been answered. l don't know how you may assist but please try and see even if you may share our information with others/your friends and further, see if you can help in starting a small charitable group for this.

I am meanwhile being encouraged from a scripture in Matthew, where Jesus called upon all Christians to be build and be established on the Rock. We have faith that all Christians will be build on the Rock in Kenya, and in the World, and that through the Networking of the Brethren s' Support and Prayer, the situation will improve in Kenya-Amen.

Please we welcome your Humanitarian aid donations and support for this project any time at Gods' timing. Kindly help us to get our information to other givers/charitable groups. Otherwise Bye and God Bless you so much.
